Upstate South Carolina Real Estate

“Destination Of A Lifetime”, National Geographic

Welcome to Upstate South Carolina! Our area has just the right balance of lakes, mountains and weather. People have retired here from all over the world but we just call it home.

Lake Keowee is one of the most beautiful fresh water lakes in the entire South offering majestic views, sparkling blue water and mountain views. The lake is located near Seneca, a small town in the northwest corner of South Carolina. It is often referred to as the Golden Corner area. The lake is fed from nearby mountain streams of pure blue water.

Lake Keowee consists of about 18,000 acres with approximately 300 miles of shoreline. Only about 1/4 of the shoreline has been developed resulting in an un-crowded lake which is perfect for boating, fishing, sailing and other water activities. It is also the site of a Professional Bass Tournament each year. Lake Keowee is owned by Duke Energy Corporation which controls the lake frontage and water level. Lake Keowee property owners own the waterfront which is different than the Corps of Engineering restrictions such as on Lake Hartwell.

In addition to beautiful lakes Keowee and Hartwell and the majestic Blue Ridge mountains, we have Oconee Medical Center, a partner to Greenville Hospital Systems, is a thriving medical complex that we are extremely proud of. Our local shopping has all the major grocery chains, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Belk’s and lots of unique privately owned shops. Larger department stores and clothiers like Dillard’s, Macys, Sears, and JC Penney are about 25 minutes away. Clemson University is minutes away and offers all the perks to local residents and is home to the South Carolina Botanical Garden.

Our local airport, Oconee County Regional Airport, accommodates large corporate jets. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is approximately 1 hour away. And Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC airports are about 2 hours away.
